Desjardins Group jumps to 20th place from 25th on Global Finance's 2011 list of the world's safest banks
Desjardins Group, Canada's largest cooperative financial group, continues to climb up the list of the world's safest banks, moving from 25th to 20th place on Global Finance's list of World's 50 Safest Banks 2011. Holding strong in fourth among the World's Safest Banks 2011 in North America, Desjardins continues to outstrip all major American banks. For its 20th annual ranking of banks, New York-based Global Finance compared the 500 largest banks worldwide based on total assets and long-term credit ratings from Moody's, Standard & Poor's and Fitch. Internationally, Desjardins ranks ahead of many of the top banks from the U.S., Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Read the press release.
